Lower Dolpo

18 Days

Dolpo region is a challenging, remote trek with high passes and incredible mountain scenery. Found in between the Tibetan Plateau and Dhaulagiri Himal and still culturally Tibetan, Dolpo is one of the highest inhabited places on earth. It is a tough, mountainous region of azure blue lakes, high passes and fortified villages. Immortalised in Peter Matthiessen’s book ‘The Snow Leopard’ and Eric Valli’s classic film ‘Himalaya’, Dolpo still retains its air of remoteness and mystery.
